Jefferson Ave Kitchen
Spring 2025—Client Project
Design in collaboration with Andrea Mason
Brooklyn, NY
This Brooklyn kitchen was developed from an initial design by the architect who did the renovation, with my role focused on translating the concept into fully resolved custom cabinetry and built-in millwork. I was brought onto the project to complete the kitchen cabinet design, produce shop drawings, fabricate the cabinetry in my shop, and handle the full installation on site.
All cabinetry was custom-built, with lacquered maple interiors and exterior faces finished in a green wash stain over oak veneer. The result is a rich, layered surface that balances the warmth of natural wood grain with a deep, architectural color palette. Brass hardware and a custom-fabricated brass soffit add a refined metal detail that ties the cabinetry into the larger kitchen composition.
In addition to the main cabinet system, I designed and fabricated several custom functional elements, including the built-in appliance niche and integrated coffee pullouts. These details were developed to make everyday use feel seamless while keeping the kitchen visually clean and intentional.
The project combined traditional cabinetmaking, precise shop drawing coordination, custom finishing, and on-site problem solving. Every cabinet, panel, pullout, and brass element was fabricated and installed by me, creating a tailored kitchen that feels both highly functional and specific to the client’s home.
